It seems so weird that Dale is the one in the hospital instead of me. I've had numerous surgeries and procedures over the years and he's always been right there taking such good care of me. He was admitted to the hospital last night with pneumonia. I left the ER around 11:00pm and the drive home in the dark wasn't fun. There were so many deer close to the road and in the fields, I am so thankful they stayed where they were. Went back to the hospital this morning, but Dale insisted I leave to come home around 3 this afternoon. I haven't slept hardly any for the last four nights, so we both knew I didn't need to wait any longer to drive home. Yesterday before we went to the ER, I had mixed up some filling for chicken croquettes, so I knew I needed to make them today. My taste buds are getting close to normal and they were so good. I roasted a potato to go with it and put lots of butter and sour cream. Yummy! I plan to take a strong sleeping pill, go to bed early, and hopefully sleep late in the morning. I'll take Dale some croquettes even though they're better when you first fry them. Please continue to pray for my Dale. I don't know what I'd do without him. Thanks, y'all. Hope you've had a great Sunday and a wonderful weekend.

@kobesbuddy When Dale gets gruff, sometimes my humility is to tell him to back off.

@1creekgirl And Jay can be gruff at times, that keeps me working towards humility.

Somehow I missed this post. I hope you and Dale are doing good these days. Those croquettes look delicious. My Momma used to make them often. Hers were larger sized patties, sort of like tuna patties. So good.

I guess mine are sort of three sided because my mother made them that way. Years ago I quit shaping meatloaf in the traditional shape and started making it in squares in a baking dish.

@CarolDM Thanks so much, Carol. Last chemo tomorrow and praying I get along better this time than the last one. How are you feeling? You're in my prayers often.

@1creekgirl Funny how we tend to cool like our Mom's. A great idea to make meatloaf in squares. I use a loaf pan for mine. Hope your are feeling well these days. I think of you often.

He decided to wait until he gets home to eat the croquettes if that's in a day or two. They were really tasty of me earlier today after I got home.

Sending my prayers for Dale. I wish him a speedy recovery. Please take a rest and a good sleep. It wouldn't help a bit if you get sick yourself.

You're right. I'm so thankful that if this had to happen that it happened when I'm in my last week before chemo when I feel my best.

I am sorry that he has fallen ill, but he is in the best place to heal and be monitored. I am sending up prayers both for Dale's healing but also for strength for yourself. I hope that you have a restful and quiet night and a good sleep.

Please don't wait that late to drive home again. I'll worry about you now... You and Dale are always in my thoughts. When Pretty and I go anywhere, she knows we have to leave in time for the sun to still be up so I can see to drive. (She prefers to make appointments as late in the day as possible. I had to tell her this last Fall that I was leaving before the sun set and if that meant she was still waiting to see a doctor, then the doctor could bring her home before she'd make her appointments earlier in the afternoon. There's a reason I make my doctor appointments as early in the working day as I can.)

Last night was so unplanned, but it was sketchy with all those deer near the road and I don't see well to drive a lot at night now. Dale insisted I leave in plenty of time today. We try to get our doctors' appointments earlier, also, not only to avoid driving at night, but to miss the rush hour traffic. I really appreciate your concern.

You don't even want to know and I know Dale will be all right. Keep to your prayers and keep thinking positively. The worst happened to me and I would never want anyone else to go through that if it could be avoided. I hope he soon feels much better and great to know he is getting the care he needs. Many blessings to you both and I will keep him in my prayers.
