I did something today I haven't done in awhile.

I have been playing a lot of guitar recently, between Guitar Center and playing with my friends. I have also been playing pretty much upright and electric bass, both with friends and at home.
Today, inspired by a MyLotter, I took out my mandolin, tuned it up, and played on it for awhile. I still have it on my bed and will play it some more before before the day is done. I am rusty, but I still remember how to play the thing.
Do you have something that you haven't done in awhile that you can do (or start) today if you put your mind to it?

I sawed down the neighbor's tree that was mostly in out yard after the last storm blew it down across out fence. And then dragged the heavy b... thing around to the front of our house so the sanitation workers will take it away.

@TheHorse Of course they won't pay me... They wouldn't even answer the door when I was trying to talk to them about it.

@DaddyEvil Will you keep it for firewood? Or just have it hauled off? Did you leave them a note or something? Was your fence damaged or anything like that?

@TheHorse She hadn't played in "ages" but she did demonstrate her talent. Sounded ok to me, but what did I know at the time?

@BarBaraPrz I enjoy it when people take out an instrument they hadn't played in awhile.

@wolfgirl569 I'm sure I could learn. IF I can that needle through an eye. My eyes are not what they used to be.

@TheHorse We used to. When we moved I tried giving it away; and no one wanted it. They ended up trashing it. Such a shame.

Years ago I wrote country music songs for me to sing with my little band. But those days are long gone! And I really have no interest to write music again, although I love singing in church.

@TheHorse I do solos. I use accompaniment CD's which will soon be nonexistent.

Sometimes, it doesn't take much practice to get back to where you were before you stopped.

Something I haven't done in a long time is draw. And I also feel that I have rusted. It's been a long time since I picked up a pencil and paper to do it.
Maybe I'll pick it up this week.
