While living in the city I did have success growing dahlias but here in this semi rural town somehow they do not thrive I have not seen a single garden around here that has dahlias. I ,marvel how well formed the petals are each row perfectly laid with not a single petal out of place. The only bad thing about dahlias is that they cannot stand on their own and need support if the size is too large. Is there any other flower as well formed as the dahlia? Image credit:

In my opinion chrysanthemums are as well formed as the dahlia, both from the same family the Asteraceae.

What I like about them is that the petals are big and so well formed unlike any other flowers
