The sea stack Dun Briste

I wrote before about Dun Briste, the sea stack just off Downpatrick Head in Ireland. It is 63 metres long and 23 wide. Dun Briste means ‘broken fort’.
I realised I didn’t have a photo of it that showed it on its own in all its glory but Vince has very kindly given me permission to use his. Notice the colourful rock stratas. It’s a safe haven for nesting birds too.
I wonder if more of the cliffs will one day break away and become sea stacks. I’m away all day as we’re having a day in Dublin. I must remember to take my camera. I’ll check in again this evening hopefully.

I wonder if one day it will wash away too. I guess it will one day but probably not for thousands of years.

I hope you and Vince have a good time in Dublin!
And some of the strata looks like it was built of bricks... Very interesting!

@snowy22315 We went through some of Northern Ireland some years ago. I'm afraid the main memory is of the razor wire around the police stations.

@JudyEv Silly me but I thought English was the language that the Irish spoke.

I wonder what is in each layer? Probably some evidence of ancient plants or animals.
