Do you use a steam iron to press clothes?

Steam iron

I find a steam iron much more convenient to press my shirts and pants. They are a bit lighter in weight and the steam seems to make the ironing much easier too. I have a basic steam iron and pressing my clothes is not a big task in the mornings. I don't make them too crisp and snappy - just a light ironing is enough. Thankfully, my workplace is not very strict about dress codes or having every crease of my short and pants in place! Do you use a steam iron or a regular iron to press clothes?

I haven't had to iron something since I was in my twenties... I don't even know if we still own an iron.

@DaddyEvil if your iron was still working, it could be worth a fortune.

Yes, I use steam iron, it is easy to iron clothes with it as the steam helps to make creases in the clothes.

Sometimes I do. I tend to buy clothes that don't need ironing. So, I'm using it less often.

@pitstop wash and wear material, I don't really know. I just tell the saleslady - "wash and wear" clothes.

There is a steam iron but it is not in use. There is no ironing done. It is sent to the laundry close by

When I need to iron a lot of clothes, like before we travel, I send it to a dhobi here.

@pitstop We put our clothes in the washing machine and that is the time we get a load full of clothes for ironing

I have an iron and a portable ironing mat. I rarely iron my clothes but I do love to. And yes it is steam.

I do not iron any clothes at all. I never have . I just take the clothes out of the dryer and hang them up.

I have to admit I hate to iron clothes so I rarely buy clothes that require ironing.

I find wrinkle resistant shirts very difficult to get - some marked as wrinkle resistant still end up needing ironing.

I don`t like to iron my clothes but I spend with fabric conditioners which helps the clothes to be soft and will not look bad or crampled

I use a fabric conditioner in the wash, but the water is hard here and the clothes get wrinkled as they dry.

I have such an iron at home but I don't use it any more. It is still brand new. As I found it is quite a difficult housework to iron the clothes. So I have a solution at last. That is I won't buy any kinds of clothes which need to be ironed

I use a steam iron, it's also a lot better to iron cotton fabrics, it helps to remove the wrinkles.

Wrinkles are difficult to iron out with a dry iron, especially with cotton clothes.

I need to iron the shirts I wear to work. They get creases and a few wrinkles after they are washed.

That seems to be the consensus here among those who iron their clothes.

We just tumble dry our clothes and fold or hang them. Ironing is unnecessary.
