Hubby has a favorite meal. It did not appeal to me at first but I love it now.
It is a casserole called Janssen's Temptations. It was in a Scandinavian cookbook he got at a sale. Online one site said this was traditionally fed to travelers before they began a journey to make sure they had something warm in their stomach.
Janssen's Temptations has potatoes, onions anchovies and cream. Very rich.
And yes, most people say it is not for them, because of the anchovies.
We ate this with black seedless grapes and steamed broccoli and cauliflower. A nice complete meal.
Now it is morning. Time for work. I had oatmeal for breakfast.

The recipe @marlina shared mentioned smoked salmon instead.

All I had ever heard of was on pizza. First place we tried that did not make it well. The idea of this casserole sounded off at first, but I tried it and I liked it.

"traditionally fed to travelers before they began a journey to make sure they had something warm in their stomach."
Or trying to get rid of them?

I guess it depends on how you interpret hospitality.

@GardenGerty Me neither, but I have since discovered that they add a great savoury flavour to dishes. I have a recipe for Roman lamb stew which includes anchovies and it is amazing!

I have had anchovies on pizza and thought it was tasty. I would try them again if I was offered a dish that had them as an ingredient.

I had anchovies on a pizza that were not well done, and so that made me cautious of this dish at first but I find the flavor nicely blended with the onions and potatoes.

I don't think the anchovies would be for me. They taste like salty fish, no?

If done right they are not too salty, but yes, definitely fishy.
