I guess it's all arranged. The sister that I am most fond of has always had issues. Now that age is sneaking in and biting, those issues are larger and more noticeable. For her sake I hope its not dementia creeping in. Her daughter lives about half an hour from her but has her own life and does not want her Mom living with her.
So sister wants to visit me. Hubby said two days- she irritates him- I said three since she has a long train ride to get here then go home again. I just found a phone message from sister: I don't even know what town you're in! Maybe the train company will help me!.
I finally reached her daughter. Daughter made the train arrangements. I refused to have sister visit at all if daughter didn't make the arrangements.
I hope we have a nice visit without any emotional eruptions. Last time sister was here we had a good time. I hope she is on her meds!

I have a sister who's bi-polar and refuses to take any medications for it. Nobody in the family can stand being around her, as hard as we've all tried. She's angry, argumentive, combative, tries to pick fights and she dwells in the past. We finally broke ties, she's hateful!

@kobesbuddy Your sister doesn't sound like any fun to be around. My sister also has bi-polar issues, among other things.

@sallypup Sona never shuts her mouth, she is an authority on anything we're talking about! Who does she usually pick a fight with? Jay He won't put up with her, which makes Sona mad!

I wish you and your sister good bonding, and that your hubby be patient with her, after all it's only a few days..

I'm sorry.
My own mother passed almost 2 years ago from Alzheimer's Disease.
The last dozen years of her life she became a very cross and angry woman, and she did not remember any of us unless she was angry and cross.
Our son realizes that my mother and her siblings as well as their mother all suffered from it, and some day I may also.
He is having a granny suite finished at his new home so that if my hubs goes before me, I can move in with him as he will worry too much about my safety.

@sallypup He does not think that it will be an issue having me come to live with him, but if I go first, he believes that my hubby might try to go it alone without going to live with him, and that concerns us both.
Hopefully over time he will come to realize that together is better and safer.

This starts to get really tricky, doesn't it? At our age, we have our own issues and taking on an 'iffy' person even for a few days becomes problematical. I hope it all goes well. When does she arrive?
