Staying hydrated - part 2!

Water bottle in the sand

I'd mentioned that kids leave their water bottles all over the playfield and the stands as they play in the evenings in the playground. Some are organised and leave it in safe places. Some just leave them randomly lying around the playground - like this bright colored bottle left carelessly on the sand. There's already some dust and sand on the bottle and an ant crawling up to explore! I wonder if it's safe to drink from such a bottle.

As long as the cap is still securely in place, there's nothing wrong with the bottle and it's contents.

The problem is that kids tend to put their mouth all over the edge of the bottle opening - they made take a little dirt inside too!!

@pitstop Kids and adults eat dirt all the time. It won't hurt them.

Kids are kids and a little dirt will strengthen their immune system, as long as they are not exposed to potent and infectious agents,

Yes it is. It's unhealthy to be dehydrated.

If the cap is still intact it's okay. Also making sure it always clean

I think the water is safe because the bottle is closed. The ant and sand has not come into contact with it, though i don't support what they do

They need to be a little more careful.

I don’t like when people just leave their miscellaneous items around for others to deal with.

These kids need a little bit more supervision.

If the cap is on tight it is safe if ants get in there I could not drink the water.

I was concerned as kids tend to put their mouth directly on the bottle opening to drink.

I guess it depends on how well it is sealed. You wouldn't want to swallow an ant while you're drinking.

A little extra protein with the water may not be a bad idea...
