Controversial religion

We have one pastor who has been detained for causing deliberate deaths of the followers . It is said that they had fasted for a month without taking anything. The queue for waiting is long long as the pastor is believed to miraculously heal people. They died as they waited for their turn to come. What has happened to religion? Many denominations have sprouted out of nowhere and misleads people so much. And people are also so desparate to be misused. I can't allow anyone to play with my faith I rather pray for myself and wait on God God doses not stupidity or does he?

Very sad! The Bible tells us to be careful as there would be false prophets and deceivers and this man seems to fit that description.

@Laurakemunto So true! Remember what Jesus said about a blind man that follows another blind man?

You are very right but nowadays people are so lost and they don't even think they allow themselves to be misled aimlessly

@kanuck1 and that parable seems noone is even interested in reading it. All they preach is giving out tithes and offerings to the Lord in order to have many blessings

Some sects are turning into cults, that's why. Fanatics can see no reason to stop even if you tell them. Religion should provide comfort, hope, enlightenment, peace and love.

Not eating for a month is idiocy. However saying the victims (which I saw in a comment) of this pastor are at fault is disgusting. That pastor was in a position of authority. He exploited their faith and manipulated those people. Some of which may have been particularly vulnerable denominations. That pastor should be thrown in jail, left to starve and rot!

@Laurakemunto where the f*ck did a pastor a servant of god get 3 million kenyan shillings? ... Ohhh televangelist that's how.... "fasting to meet Jesus" well he is technically correct they did indeed meet Jesus... Way too soon though... Eh there is a special place in hell for murderers.

Unfortunately he's already out after settling a bail of 3million. It's so sad how people in authority misuse it and exploit the vulnerable

God doesn’t wish for His people to suffer so that preacher is definitely a false prophet. That’s another reason to know the Bible ourselves so we can decipher what is truth and what is fiction.

I agree with you we should not let people poison our minds in the name of men of God . We should also know the word ourselves first before being misled

He sounds a very dangerous man. Some people are easily able to mislead others. And some people are very easily led.
