I ate my dessert while I watch the news.

I decided to have a piece of cake while I was watching the news. Today, many Chilean people have crossed the Andes to go to Argentina. Prices are better there and they hope to buy with savings. But I don´t understand. They can´t bring more than what they can place in their cars. And I wonder. Is it worth it the extra money in gas, the time and it all? I would probably want to go for sightseeing. But by no means to spend my time buying oil, rice or detergent. It is not THAT much cheaper. I will stop those weird news. I can smell the spinach quiche from here. I ate a piece of cake but I´m hungry. I want something with salt. See you later.

Is it really economical to do that?

I think that it is crazy. Not even if they gave you the food would it be worth it to go across the Andes mountains and pay some tolls on the way. Besides, you would need to eat at a restaurant and stay at a hotel.

I know what you're talking about. Driving miles and spending gas money prices, to save a little money on each item. That's foolish concept! Spending money and calling it saving money

I used to meet people here who crossed the city to buy a couple of lettuce and some corn at the Farmer´s Market. I would do that if I run a place and needed produce for lots of people. But for my family I buy at places nearby.

@kobesbuddy If the supermarket is far away, it is probably not worth to go and buy there.

@marguicha We have a WalMart grocery store in Tawas. The prices are OK, but not actually money savings.

That's a long way to go for a little bit of savings. Have a good day.

It is. I think that they are insane. And at this time of the year, if there is a storm, they could get stuck in the middle of the pass. Policemen at the frontier would not be capable of helping too many people.

Sometimes people forget the expenses for gas and time spent. They only look at the price of the goods

I have known people here to travel across the state and say they saved. But they don't think about the gas they use

Exactly. I have heard about people so happy because they saved a few cents on a lettuce. But they can´t eat more that a couple of lettuces in a week.
