I just stumbled on the news that Gordon Lightfoot has died. This feels to my heart as bad as John Denver leaving us. Both muscians are part of me; many many memories wrapped up with both and their voices and music. My Mom loved the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald song. I can hear her humming along to it now. His guitar playing and on I go, getting all weepy. John Denver leaving was bad enough. I was just a kid out of high school, summer after, signed up for the Youth Conservation Corps in Northern Minnesota. I had just spent a bad night in a bunk, crawled out to slump in the back of a ranger's big van, rolling down woodsy roads, headed with other kids to a campsite. We'd spend our day shoveling gravel, John Denver's music from the van's radio still in our heads. Anyway, see you later! to both guys. You were my buddys many times. Thank you for your help through the years.
