What a nice way to be greeted

We are home from Ireland where we spent a month, mostly in Co. Mayo in the west. At Leenaun, I saw the Irish word ‘failte’ carved into the lawn at a bed and breakfast place. ‘Failte’ means ‘welcome’ and you see the word a lot on various signs.
We had a good trip but it will never be anything but a long way. Vince is napping but, although I laid on the bed, I couldn’t go to sleep so now I’m catching with some of the myLot news. Hopefully I’ll feel weary soon and be able to sleep. Or at least I’ll sleep tonight.
Our good friends at our lifestyle village left a Welcome Sign on our doorstep and some fruitcake. We’ll catch up with them at the movies tonight.

Thanks. It is certainly a long time to sit in a plane. We have two more days home then have an endurance ride to take photos at so I'd better some good quickly. We were supposed to go to a house-sit but they've had to cancel which is a good thing really.

Yes Failte means welcome. And everyone is welcomed in Ireland.
Ireland of the Welcomes.
Glad you are home now.

@JudyEv Very hospitable, though some are here too in America, but not nearly the same as Ireland. I am so glad and I hope Vince is fine now from his chest there.

I just yesterday had the last of the 5 pound fruitcake I'd gotten for Christmas, so if you don't want what was left on your doorstep, you can send it over here...

I am sure it will take a day or two to get adjusted. Being jetlagged is the worst feeling.

I had a hard time with a five-hour difference between Honolulu and Louisville when I went home on leave. I can’t even imagine losing most of an entire DAY in sleep.
Hope you get re-adjusted quickly.
