Do you have a toolbox?

Is it just here in the Philippines that neighbors borrow stuff like screwdrivers or Allen wrenches? My neighbor just left as he wanted to borrow a star screwdriver. My husband has this tool box but for the life of me, I didn’t know what a star screwdriver is (until today! I googled it, lol, plssssss don’t judge!). I told the neighbor to come back because my husband isn’t here and it’s his stuff and I don’t wanna lend anything without his permission. I mean I wouldn’t be happy if anyone let people borrow my stuff without me knowing it. Too much?
Photo cracks me up.
Do you know your hand tools?

Yes, we have a toolbox... I don't like someone lending my things without my permission, either. And yes, sometimes the neighbors come over asking to borrow tools. It depends on which neighbor it is whether they get to borrow something or not.
I like the picture you have with this discussion.

Yes, I know many tools from growing up with males. My husband was surprised when I asked one day when he asked for screw driver if he need a Philips screwdriver (The start one you mentioned) or a flathead. They are flat and good for a slotted screw, not an x or star shape screw. I also know how to use most of the tools and can do them myself. Like I knew how to use a drill bit my husband showed me how, hams easy, screwdrivers easy.

@sol_cee Lol, I was a keeper way before he knew that little bit. Most women don't know anything about tools, but I few up with 2 older brothers so I learned a lot of things. I also worked in a wear house and was hired because I knew most of that stuff for a lot of DYI things. (Home Depot) I know a lot of things about a lot of things.

I have multiple tool boxes full of tools. It looks like I am a carpenter because of how many tools I have! And the funny part is that I hardly ever use them. Maybe it’s because I am right-handed and all of my tools are left-handed tools!

@popciclecold I have always considered myself ambidextrous, but for some reason I am not very adept at using left-handed tools, especially those left-handed screwdrivers!

That IS a funny picture. And I wouldn't feel right about lending out someone else's tools either. I remember when my dad bought me a pink toolbox, with all pink tools inside. Over the years, he has borrowed them from me several times, but never gave them back!

@sol_cee No, my favorite color is blue, but my dad thought he was being supportive to his daughters by teaching them how to fix things, and when he saw pink available he figured they'd be perfect. He has no idea where those tools he borrowed are though. He lost them right after he used them.

I have tons of tools, and so does hubby. We will loan some things to some people, not to others. I will not loan his stuff out without his permission.

We have a toolbox, but it's my husband who filled in the tools and sometimes my mom gave me some tools and I just put them inside. I don't really know much about the tools. I think we only have flat and cross types, but not others. I didn't know there is screwdriver for left handed and right handed too.
I don't think it's too much, I wouldn't be happy if anyone lending my stuff to others without me knowing it too.

I would do the same. My son has toolboxes but I never bothered opening them because it is his. If I needed something I would have to ask him first because he will be the one doing the task anyway.
I don't also know the names of his tools. They come in all shapes and sizes.

My late father has a toolbox. I know some of them because I also borrow some from him before.
Yesterday I bought a phillips screwdriver because I cannot find mine. I need it for my mini fan. I opened it this morning then I just decided to throw it away... LOL

We don't call it a star screwdriver, but I assume that's a Philips screwdriver (with the plus-sign + instead of the minus sign -, lol). I don't have an actual toolbox, but I do have a lottttt of tools. I got a fancy screwdriver set that is all magnetic so the screws stay on the end until they are firmly in the wood or the wall. It's a game-changer!
