Happy Saturday. Sadly, I got the no bootable device error on my laptop this morning, and was worried it was something really bad. This had happened before though though and I fixed it. It turned out simply by unplugging the cable and re plugging it in again, fixed the situation, so no big worries there. I am going to order a new laptop though because I am thinking about getting a cyber security certificate, and can't do that with this beloved, old thing. Have you ever gotten the no bootable device error? Are you able to fix computer issues yourself or do you call in the big guns?

I do not believe that I have ever had that message. I would not be able to fix it myself. I keep a pretty good firewall on my devices and as a result I only have to take it in when I buy it to have it all loaded and set up for me.

Thanks, well that one was...but then it started popping up some other weird message. I managed to get rid of that one by deleting the program. I never use it anyway.

I usually restart my computer. If it still does not work, I shut it down and then turn it on again after 10 -20 minutes. and it worked every time, thank God.

Yes, I tried the restart options. It wasn't working..but fortunately reconnecting the cable did. There is a list of about 6 relatively easy things you can do if you get that no bootable device error.

You may luck out and it will never happen to you. However, if your lappy is older it is inevitable something will fail at some point.

I have a desktop and it seems they tend to last a lot longer than laptops.

I usually try myself first, there are a few things to try that usually fix the problem. If everything fail, I ask for the help of my husband.

Last time when it was acting up, I couldn't fix it. I took it to a friend who works on puters.

Oh heavens, I know nothing about everything. Thankfully, I am friends with a guy who is in charge of the IT department at a local university. He takes care of all my computer problems for free. Otherwise, I’d be lost. And broke!
