My new car was supposed to be delivered to the dealership tomorrow. They called me first thing yesterday morning to let me know that it came in early. My husband had to get to work, but I popped over there after dropping him off to look at it. It'll work for now. Financing is... not going to be as smooth as I'd hoped. My interview went well on Monday and I'm just waiting to hear back about my start date now. Offer letter said tentatively the 21st but there's a good chance they'll have me start the computer-based stuff earlier than that. But not having an actual pay stub might be an issue since lenders are tightening requirements. I had one financing offer through my bank that wouldn't even generate rates for the car I'm buying. Oh, well. We have to get over to the dealer by 11 to get all the paperwork started. Before that, I have to get the kids ready for school and get out the door early because I have to go over to MIL's and pick up her dog. Then I'll go drop the kids off and head over to the vet's office to drop the dog off to be spayed. It won't be too bad. I thought I'd also have to make a quick trip to Discount Tire before trading the old car in. It turns out both the old car and the new one have the same size tire, so yesterday I pulled the best tire off the old one to use as a spare. I was going to have Discount swap that tire onto the spare rim because it's in better shape but that won't work because the cars have different bolt patterns. The other big thing we'll do is pull the brand new battery from the old car. Turns out Costco's return policy is amazing and they'll take it back for a refund.

@yukimori .........I don't do any of the clubs. I like Home Depot and Walmart.

They really are. I liked Sam's Club better when we had both several years ago, but they built a big new fuel center a couple years ago and now it seems like I'm at Costco at least once a week.

That sounds quite a rigmarole. It's a good idea to salvage the tyre and battery. That should save you some money.

About $120 for each one.

You’ve got a lot going on. The refund on the battery is great.

Less than Monday, thankfully. So far everything is going smoothly, too, aside from my kids forgetting a few nonessential things at home. They're in luck since we'll be back over that way later and I can drop them off for them.
