I got to try a vacuum cleaner, for free. For writing the review after using it, it is all mine.
It is a bagless version. You just periodically take out the filters and wash them. You dump the dust cup into the trash.
It is powerful, and quieter than many other vacuums. It seems to have a larger capacity and is taller. A good thing for taller people, it makes it easier on the back, I think.
The crevice tool that you can put on the end of the hose has a tiny dust brush built over it, that worked really well on cleaning my ceiling fan and lights.
Retail value of this one is $100-$149, depending on where you shop.

@GardenGerty I haven't been chosen for a product test in years.

That is what I did when I had a two story home.

That's similar to the Shark that I reviewed and then got to keep, too. They're really good machines, as long as you don't prefer shag carpeting.

@GardenGerty No, Shark itself wanted feedback on their machines. They took note of which Shark we each wanted to try and then sent us those machines. We used them in different experiments at home and reported the results back to them.
Since I already had a Hoover, they asked me to vacuum a room with the Hoover first and then see how much more the Shark picked up. Then had me vacuum another room with the Shark first and then see how much the Hoover picked up. (The room, after I used the Hoover first, looked good... I picked up half the bagless container full in that room when I used the Shark second. The Hoover had about some light dust in the bagless container when I used it second. They LOVED that comparison!)

I did it on a whim, but it was very needed.

I was impressed. I did always like the Dirt Devil brand.
