Have you ever heard of Nasi Padang? If translatted in English, it's called "Padang Rice" or "Padang Food". Nasi is rice in English. It is a Minangkabau dish of steamed rice served with various choices of dishes originated from West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is named after the city of Padang, capital of the West Sumatra province. It's such a unique place. When you went to Padang restaurant a visit, instead of going to the counter for direct order, you simply sit down and waitresses will bring various dishes to the table. Padang restaurants are spread across Indonesia; no matter which city you go to, there is always a Padang restaurant around. My most favourite Padang food is rendang, a dry beef curry cooked with coconut milk and spices for several hours until almost all the liquid has been evaporated. Every Padang restaurant is based around this dish, and families love to cook it at home, especially during the holidays. Padang Restaurant is a place I love to visit with my family, and boyfriend. The photo is mine.

The picture looks good but if there is rice, I can't eat it.

@happylearner When I was really little, one of my older brothers convinced me that my mom made rice from maggots (baby flies) and I can't eat rice without thinking about that and throwing up.

I think Padang is everywhere, not only the famous rendang but also the satay.

@happylearner I'm afraid my teeth will break if the satay is too hard, rendang also if the meat has a lot of veins it won't get soft.

Yes, the waitresses bring the food to the table. We don't have to eat all of the food, we can eat what we want.
