myLot and perfect English

myLot as you know is very considerate when it comes to spellings and grammatical errors in posts, responses and comments. The question is should we take advantage of that and not bother about producing perfect English?
I try my best but what bothers me are the typos. I read through and do not see anything wrong and click that submit button only to realise later when I come back to comment I see the howlers. I immediately edit those typos.
What about you. How particular are you or not bothered knowing myLot will let pass your howlers?

There are a few here who just do not bother. I am sure they know there are typos in their posts but since myLot does not mind they do not edit them

@sjvg1976 They should do that in their own interest else they will become used to typing below standard content

@allknowing that's the postive thing about the site but that's wrong people should edit their posts when they find any mistake in them.

I reread my posts a couple of times, but I am sure I still miss some typos. We used to have a mylotter who was a native English speaker, and would write post after post. However, they never double checked what they wrote, and it was often pure nonsense. I really do appreciate everyone's effort to be coherent, but of course, we all understand everyone struggles with grammar or spelling at one time or another. If English is one's second language it must be especially effort inducing. I admire those who give it their best. Absolutely no one should expect perfection.

@allknowing Oh, rest assured, there is no one on mylot now that was like that person. I mean they were BAD. I probably shouldn't say anything more because they truly were a nice person, and in no way were they uneducated. They simply did not care.

@AmbiePam We do not have the so called gang either now who wasted no time in ridiculing others while they themselves had lots to hide

English is my second language and I agree with you many native speakers do not bother correcting their mistakes.

I see that too. But I know what to accept and what to reject. For example 'favour' has a u in the British version but American version does not have it but I go by the British version

@allknowing American English seems to have removed almost all the "u", favour, colour, labour, glamour, neighbour, catalogue. Then there are those with the re er inverted: theatre, centre, litre, metre, fibre.
Now I see many underlined words in my text.

@LadyDuck I gave you just one example. I will follow the British version
Because you have an American checker (lol)

I do edit my work when I see that I did make errors in spelling and words being used properly.

You are not the only one. I look twice and see no mistakes but when I get back to comment there I see them and quickly edit them.

@allknowing Do you mean in the poem? There are 36 incorrect words in it to my reckoning, but no spelling mistakes.

I always go back to correct it if I spot I have made a mistake, I am horrified as I'm always very particular. I just noticed that I had written 'log' instead of 'long' in a response to a comment and even though I know it has been read by the intended recipient and may well never be read again, I corrected it anyway.
By the way I hope you won't mind if I mention you have accidentally got two 'n's in 'anything' in this post.

@allknowing I'm exactly the same. The errors jump out at me when I go back to the discussion.

Here we are not supposed to do that but since you have requested I suppose that should be fine. But what you have written here is perfect.
