Have you tried the budget airlines yet?

Usually the budget airlines won't provide you food or flight entertainment such as movies. But its price is very nice. I tried Tiger Airways when we travelled to Singapore before. It is not a long flight and therefore it was totally OK to be without food or flight entertainment. The price only included the basic package in 5KG luggage. There was OK since it was a tropical country and I didn't need to have more clothes. In brief, everything was nice and I'd like to try the budget airlines again if the flight is just for several hours.

I haven’t been on a plane since 1989. From everything I’ve seen and read about the ever-increasing problems (especially with airlines in the US), I won’t get on another plane — budget or luxury — again, either.

@Babino — overbooked flights, cancellations for no “real” reason (such as a weather issue), lost luggage, etc. They blame it on labor shortage, but it’s been going on since before covid.

Can you tell us more about these problems ? I’m so clueless when it comes to flights.

I haven't taken any flights during pandemic. It has changed a lot to my travel plan.

I just want to fly on an airline whose planes do not crash into the ocean at a bad angle.

Budget airlines don't mean they have poor quality.

@youless As long as they hire good pilots and maintenance crew, I am happy.

I never tried one. Most of our travels where long international travels, you need a bit more comfort.

If I go to some Asian counctries like Singapore, Thailand, Japan etc. and it's no problem for me to take budget airlines since they are not far away from where I live. In fact I haven't seen budget airlines which provide long flights.

@youless - Budget airlines do not provide long flights for what I know. We do not travel anymore because my husband health conditions, but I would fly a low cost to go to Zürich or Paris, it's not a long flight.

I’ve never heard of less than 10 kg luggage!! Nice !! I’ve tried Airarabia for a 1h local flight. It was my first and last flight so i can’t really compare. But it wasn’t bad.

If you want a luggage more than 5KG, you have to pay. This is why I had a bag of luggage and I didn't want to pay extra. Otherwise the price would not be so attractive any more

@youless yeah I figured. I see myself wearing as much as I can to avoid paying extra.

I haven't flown in a very long time, but if I did, I doubt I would hesitate to use budget airlines.

I don't feel a big difference except that budget airlines don't offer food and flight entertainment service.

Not yet, but I'm planning to, perhaps, next year. Thanks for the information. I won't use them for long flights, though.

If price is the factor, budget airlines are okay

I think for short flights the budgets airlines are okay but for longer ones I'd rather have a few more features.

Usually budget airlines are for short flights. Perhaps we all need to eat something when we have long flights. And we need the entertainments, otherwise it will be so boring

that is great information. If the journey period is 1 hour to 2 hours then passengers can do without food.If it is for longer hours then food has to be provided

Exactly. This is why I like budget airlines if it is just a short flight.

Here in Europe many of us use the company Ryanair. I flew with them in April and I must say it was a nice experience. The seats are smaller and tighter, but in all its still comfortable for the price

I shall remember this airline. It could be helpful for me if one day I travel to Europe
