MyLot means many things to me. It is here on MyLot that I learned
1. about songs I would have never heard of.
2. cultural practices in other countries
3. landscapes and hidden scenic spots around the world
4. new ideas and thoughts
5. various ways to resolve issues
6. POVs of different people
and most of all, I made new friends.
Oh, I forgot, and I earn some cents too.
What about you? What does MyLot mean to you? What did you learn from MyLot?

I learn so much from the people here.
The origin of phrases I use all the time or never heard of.
The beauty this world holds from the various trips people take.
The cuisine of various cultures.
The different words used for common objects are different in different cultures. For instance: a biscuit for others is a cookie where I live. A biscuit for me is a bread roll.
There are foods common in other places not found here.
And most importantly, people are the same everywhere. There isn't a culture barrier on myLot.

Honestly, when I joined mylot, I wasn't even aware that it is an earning site. I just wanted to be on a site that everyone was welcome. I truly enjoy learning about different cultures. Foods, activities, life...it's different and yet it is the same, in some ways. But it is interesting to learn about other places other than from the TV or books!
And yes, we learn about things we didn't know, we find things in common with other people here, and we make friends. It's a good place, Jenaisle.

Hello Marie, welcome, it is a good place, indeed.
You're one of the leading members of this site, always welcoming, kind, and ready to help. What we learn here may not even be found on other sites because many of the inputs are from personal experiences.

@MarieCoyle Yes, we have our own lives to lead, and sometimes the light banter here on MyLot helps in enlivening the day.
It's okay if you could not visit regularly. That's one of the advantages of this site, you can come and go as you please, and answer or open discussions, as you want to. There's no pressure, there's no stress as well.
I've learned a lot from you too, and I've been inspired also by your kind words.
My day is going well, I hope yours is too. Take care, Marie.

@Jenaisle
I only joined here almost 3 years ago, so I haven't been here long at all compared to some of the others. You are sweet...there are days that I find I cannot be here due to time restraints, my son's health issues and gazillions of appointments, and such. Sometimes, after stressful times, I dive in to here to visit and enjoy the normalcy of just chatting. It's really nice to know if you miss a day or two, you can come back anytime.
I prefer learning about people's experiences more than anything else. Yes, sometimes we read things here we can't imagine in our own lives, but we are all very different--and that's a good thing. We can grow and learn from each other.
I hope your day goes well, Jenaisle.

True. That's one of the reasons I like MyLot. You can avoid topics you don't want to participate in, No one is forcing you to reply to any discussion, The choice is all up to you. As much as possible I avoid those topics too, unless, I am well-versed about it.

I remember how Mylot used to be when I first joined. It had this quirky rule that required new users to write sentences with at least 10 words. It was an interesting twist that pushed me to compose longer sentences, and now it has become a habit. I find myself crafting almost paragraph-length responses when interacting with others.
But you know what? It's been worth it because I've had the pleasure of connecting with some truly incredible individuals on this site. The conversations here are so relatable, and I'm constantly amazed by the things people share.
One thing that deserves a big shoutout is Mylot's no-nonsense policy. It's refreshing to see a platform that remains spam-free. This dedication to quality content makes Mylot incredibly user-friendly, and I appreciate the effort they put into maintaining a positive and engaging environment.
The wealth of knowledge being shared by users here is simply mind-blowing. What's even better is how easily understandable it all is. People break down complex topics in a way that anyone can grasp, and it's truly remarkable.
So yeah, Mylot has come a long way since I first joined, and I'm grateful for the experiences, the connections, and the valuable insights I've gained along the journey.

I have also been a member for so long now, and I was inactive for a few years, and then I decided to come back. Although the pay is slower now, the community is much more vibrant and free.
As long as you're not rude, post your own links, be judgmental, or be a nuisance, this community will allow you to interact freely to your heart's content.
Members are also sincerely helpful and want to share information that they know of. They are open to new ideas and concepts as well.
So, yes, the community has evolved into one big, happy family.
