And we’re still waiting. Oh, well. Thank you all for your kind concerns. I’ll reward you with this great song from 1973. Hard to believe this is now 50 years old. Stir It Up - Johnny Nash This was, more or less, the popular music world’s introduction to Bob Marley. There was a much bigger announcement the next year (1974) with Eric Clapton’s cover of “I Shot the Sheriff.” Marley was, and in many ways remains, the face of reggae music. The popularity of the music can certainly be traced to him. In this case the line runs all the way from Jamaica to…Houston, Texas? Yes, that’s where Johnny Nash was from. This was his second biggest hit, behind “I Can See Clearly Now.” After the success of Nash’s version, Marley, who’d originally recorded the song in 1967, re-recorded it. Not exactly a G-rated song (Marley had ten kids by seven different women, so he liked de sex as much as he liked de herb), but it is a great song to get you dancing. Stir It Up Written by Bob Marley Recorded by Johnny Nash From I Can See Clearly Now, 1972 It’s been a long time:

Great rhythm. I'd forgotten I'd ever known of Johnny Nash.

Those songs just hang in our minds and all they need is a little push to the front.

It was a great time for music, too, if you consider that we had reggae and pop and “shock rock” like Alice Cooper and country/folk like John Denver all on the same radio station!!

Bob sure liked to stir up the infidelity "pot" (no pun intended). Enjoy Nash's I Can See Clearly Now this one although recognizable not a favorite. Not a big Reggae fan. The sound is so repetitious it gives me a headache
