I asked Anita not to come. I wanted to rest after yesterday.
I have a huge pot of Lapsang Souchong tea at my side and I have been eating several yummy things during the morning.
I started with a piece of cake while I read. I´m reading again The House of the Spirits, the first book of Isabel Allende.
They made it into a movie and yesterday I saw it at wee hours yesterday. I had had a big nap when I came back so I turned on the TV at midnight and there it was. So I went for the book and I´m reading it again.
Now it it time for salty food. I took out duchesse potatoes and they are in the oven. I put some olive oil on them. And while I was waiting for the water to boil for my tea, I discovered that one of the avocados I bought was ripe. I cut it in half, took out a very small pit, added some salt and ate it standing with a tiny coffee spoon. Delicious,. And there are more that will be ripe soon.
Later on, for dinner, I´ll make rice and chicken thighs in mushroom sauce.
After all, I won´t go to María´s house for some time as her son will be here and he can be with her.
In one sense I prefer it as I want to be near Dixie just in case they need me.
The potatoes are ready. See you later

Does the movie follow the storyline of the book? Sometimes they change it quite a lot.

Wow, that's quite a great experience! It sounds like you're having the perfect morning - what could be better than a pot of Lapsang Souchong tea and some delicious potatoes? Potatoes are so versatile - you can serve them boiled, mashed, fried, or as part of a casserole. Plus, they make for great leftovers! I personally like it mashed or boiled.
And of course, no morning is complete without a cup of Lapsang Souchong tea. Its smoky flavor adds balance to any meal and its rich aroma is sure to satisfy. I had it once as one of my friend send me one as a conratulations gift for being promoted.
I'm glad you're having a wonderful morning and enjoying some yummy things - it's always nice to get a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
