Another Tree has Blossomed in Our Yard

Here we go again, Kharla took a picture of another beautiful tree in this yard. Does anyone have a clue, what type of tree this might be? It is gorgeous! I am crazy about decorative yards with flowers and trees. Yet, I'm not familiar with the names of most of these plants. And caring for flowers, I'm even worse! A neighbor at our first home had one of these growing in her yard. Except Betty's tree was a darker shade of pink, a rosy colored blossom. Photo: Taken by me about fifteen minutes ago.

Could it be a pink dogwood, I'm not sure either. The flowers are beautiful.

Take a good picture and take it to a nursery. They could tell you for sure. Looks like a Cherry to me too.

The trees on the new property are mostly small maples. I love this for certain!

Not an expert on trees and while I don't mind them, it is the cleaning up after leaf fall I don't like!

@kobesbuddy I would leave them there, but they go all mouldy and icky, so they have to go

We never had flowering trees in our yard. Only maple, pine or oak. So this is new to me:)

You're probably right. I don't get to see very many blossoms outside of Chinaberry blossoms.

That's a gorgeous tree. I don't think the petals are the right shape for a dogwood. Cherry sounds more plausible.

The tree in the photo is likely a Kwanzan Cherry, a type of ornamental cherry tree native to China and Japan. It is known for its large, double pink blossoms, which bloom in the spring. Kwanzan Cherry trees are often used as street trees or in parks because they are relatively easy to care for and tolerant of a variety of soils and climates.

Have you considered getting a book telling you what the names of different trees are?

I go to the library quite often, but never to do research. Good idea, Keith!
