Do You Let Family And Friends Have Their Vice's?

I mean if you even ask that on internet, its all negative. My belief has always been let family and friends, even coworkers have one or two that is not so bad. I know I have at least two. Not to say neither one has left me unscathed to trouble, but to me just minor trouble that people have such a problem with they cannot let it go. Unless, you living or working with someone, you should ignore outside voices as long as you are sure your vice's hurt no one. I can see living with someone or working, but do not let them take it away if that is what keeps you sane in this world. Compromise if need to but stand up for what helps keep you going in this world. If they have a problem with that, then probably need to find a new place to live or work. My opinion, any thoughts or am I totally off the mark again?

I really don't mind at all. Whatever is happening around us is beyond our control except our own. As long as vices are not happening within my "territory", I let them be. Now, when it comes to at work, for me, there is no such thing as a perfect place in this world. So, if you keep running away, you will be running away for the rest of your life. What matters the most is you do love what you do but once it has already affected your sanity, leave as soon as possible.

Indeed, that makes good sense.I get sanity part but not sure world is sane in first place that is where I have a hard time. I think world needs to look at its self as much as some of the people they calling out for their vices is maybe my point.

@crossbones27 I respect that. However (again for me), this world won't get any better. The human race has been shouting for peace and equality but it is not happening. What happens in fact is the opposite. I need to guard my own heart and must be careful with my reactions. After all, at the end of the day, no one is accountable for your own deeds, good or bad, but you alone.

If I care about the person and I know that his vices could bring him danger or problems, then, I will have to advise him/her. I don't want to be condescending but as they say, "bad things proliferate because good people do nothing." I'm not judging the person based on his vices but I would try to help him overcome it. If he/she is a stranger, I wouldn't intrude into his/her privacy unless necessary and when someone gets hurt by his actions.

That sounds reasonable, its only a problem if it becomes a problem.

Even if they're a friend, it's still their life. As long as they aren't bothering you, you shouldn't bother them.

@DaddyEvil That is the way I look at it. When you come from the streets, its good to know the good ones as much as people have a problem with it. No one messes with you if you know so and so. I kind of think that works the same the higher you go up but its just better hidden.

If they are paying all their bills and are not hurting anyone. Than have all the vices that you want.

Per agreement, I hate when they change the goal posts. That's where I see vices get called out like no other.

You're right on the mark. You have to enjoy being yourself and not get bottled up. Can't take it! Just can't take it!

I appreciate that honest assessment. I really think our world from when I was a kid and how it was taught has been so corrupted. I hope young kids these days get the same great teaching I did receive to where you could make the world be anything can still ring true.
