Netflix will start to crack down on password sharing

This news was announced months ago. The company announced today that it is going to enforce the "household-only" rule. People with premium accounts can pay $8/month to add someone else to their account. They have not said what action they will take against members who continue to share their account. I am on my ex's Netflix account. We obviously started out in the same household but I've been here for 4 years. Because it didn't cost anything extra for me to maintain my profile on his account, he never had an issue with it. I don't know what he will do if he is pushed to pay an extra $8/month for me. Honestly I think it will all be a matter of what kind of mood he is in at that moment. It could go either way. I'm still on his email/internet account too but he doesn't pay extra for that. So who knows? Netflix is something that I would pay for myself if I had to. I don't watch it super often but I do like having the ability to watch other things aside from live TV, Amazon Prime video, and HBO Max.

I am rather surprised that Netflix allowed sharing as long as they have. People will not like the change, of course. who would? But I would imagine most streaming services will continue to rise in price, like everything else is. People will no doubt have to cut back, or it will be like cable used to be--someone will figure out a way around it all and have what they want. TV has changed so much.

Good I am glad to know this. People need to pay for services and stop stealing. Not that you are stealing but you know.

I'll believe it when I see it. They keep talking and just talking.

All you can do is wait to see what will happen.

If you have to pay, at least it's not a lot.
