Could be the silliest thing I have ever done!

Recently we attended a folk festival – these have become a key part of our lives these days since Big One is involved in a music and dance group. It’s quite a commitment but I love to dance so I seize the chance to go to the various dances and ceilidhs that are offered, as well as enjoy the music. At this latest event the programme included an ‘aqua ceilidh’. We had no idea whether this would be what we imagined it might be, but Little One was desperate to go and find out so she and I went along. And yes, it was exactly what we imagined – ceilidh dancing in a swimming pool! Imagine dancing under arches, swinging your partner, processing around etc… it was absolutely hilarious and probably the silliest thing I ever did. As you can imagine, the dancers in the deeper end had a more difficult time so in any circular dances we got slower in the deeper water and speeded up when we moved shallower again. Smaller people found themselves swimming at times. Honestly it was the best fun and my face hurt from laughing so much. We will definitely do it again given the chance! The band stayed up in the balcony, by the way! The picture shows a ceilidh in the more usual sort of setting. All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2023.

That sounds like an absolute joy of a time, and I am so glad you told us about it! If I can't ever attend one, at least I can hear about it. Someone is a genius for suggesting that.

That actually sounds like alot of fun, although you would get a very good work out and be quite tired afterwards.

We enjoyed aqua zumba in our swimming pool for few summers before the pandemic. I hope that they resume it soon. It was so much fun. I would love to dance in the swimming pool. Hope you get another such opportunity soon to have the fun again.

I would love to see a picture of that. I have taken water exercise classes set to music. It is quite the workout.
