I swam today!

I made it to the pool this afternoon and got a few laps in. It was kind of cool at first, but felt good after a bit. I got to watch an 8-month-old girl take her first swim. There were lots of tears, but she settled down in her mom's arms. I hope I get to do a lot of swimming this Summer. I miss doing "challenges" with Horse Jr, but I still enjoy reading, swimming, and hanging out with my neighbors. Oh! Aditi's mom was there and gave me a bag of freshly picked cherries from Brentwood, a nearby agricultural town that's being overrun by McMansions. Summer approaches!

I hope you get a chance to swim, too. I haven't done it in a while, myself.

It's good for my tired old body. We have our first softball game of the season Monday evening, and I'm trying to de-blob myself before I take the field.

I hope you get to fulfill your wishes. It would be good to be swimming when it's warm there. It's the start of the rainy season here, so I guess some parts of the country would provide a free swimming pool for people who are affected by flash floods. I'm sorry, I'm making a joke out of it. I just wish that this would not happen. People can always go to the sea or the river or to a paid pool if they want to swim. I do hope you could get to swim with Horse Jr. Take care.

There are nice beaches in California and I think it will be easier for you to have a swim

This was in a pool, as the beaches are miles away. But we do visit the beaches now and again.

Fresh local cherries. That was a huge gift. I can't swim or float but I try to go to a gym's warm kiddo pool twice a week and get some aerobic exercise.

@TheHorse Kiddos are required to wear diapers if they are a certain age. I have never noticed an issue with the kiddo pool. My muscles freeze up if I get into a cold pool.

Our pools weren’t open today. It was a little cool for me to go in anyway. Babies learn to swim quickly. My son gave swimming lessons while he was in college and these babies would be/swimming in no time.

Will you be able to swim in Montana..kinda rivers maybe too cold, and I doubt if the houses there have swimming pools because it is too cold out there....somehow your state seems a tad dark to me....but it maybe free of earthquakes and tornadoes....and floods and forest fires...though bears are around... Makes me wonder what have you been singing around Aditi....I like that name very much ..it is melodious unlike my rotten name. Manini, Aditi, Mansi, my favorite Indian names..do you like your name? It sounds closer to colic...pain. Evil Grin.

Summer is here in the Midwest. Horribly hot and dusty, we need some serious rain. Of course if I wish for it hard enough, we will have floods, ya know. That's how it works. I'm glad you got to go swimming. Fresh cherries! Where I used to live I had a cherry tree and picked them every year. People who have never picked or cleaned cherries have no idea how much work they can be! We always ate some fresh, and made pies or tarts, and froze cherries for pies. So good!

@MarieCoyle I will! I still have some left. They have pits but no stems.

@TheHorse Well, you have to remove the stems of course. Then you have to remove the pit. They have some special tools to use for that, I do not use the pitter thing because they smash the cherries so badly. I just use a sharp knife. Eat one for me...or ten, maybe.

Lucky you getting to swim in a pool, SIGH I miss having fruit in summer like cherries, berries, and plums. Just too expensive for me I would rather then get other groceries. One plum at Walmart goes for 89 cents.
