I always have this as our side dish.
Our cucumbers would either be fresh or pickled.
Our olives are the commercial pickled type that I buy either in the supermarket or delicatessen shops.
With the fresh cucumbers, I dress them with lemon, fish sauce, vinegar and sometimes sugar.
Before serving, olives are added.
I find this side dish very refreshing, specially when the main dish is a meat.
It also goes well with fish, stews, fried or grilled dishes.
Do you like cucumbers and olives?

@vickyrose Even when I serve pickled cucumbers and small onions, I serve separately.

Your cucumber and olive side dish sounds delicious and versatile, complementing various meat, fish, and grilled dishes. The combination of fresh and pickled cucumbers, along with commercial pickled olives, provides a refreshing and flavorful accompaniment to your meals.
