Internal Clock needs a reset

My alarm clock didn't go off this morning. This doesn't mean much, as K's did. So, I was up at 5:30 a.m. and decided I might as well get my day started. My first task after a breakfast of biscuits and gravy (leftover from Sunday) was to create a daily task list. So far, it has 15 items on it, many of them repeating daily. I've been able to check off 3 so far. At least most of them involve writing and marketing. Some involve housekeeping or the dogs. As the morning progressed, I added items to the list. Some repeat daily, some weekly. Some are one-time things. At the rate the list is growing, I may have to continue getting up at 5:30 in the morning just to get it all done. How did or is your Tuesday going so far?

You may not feel like you have retired yet! Staying busy is, I guess, is good for us anyway. Probably not for someone who has worked as long and hard as you, but still… I’m currently in the waiting room for one of my doctors. Exciting times! I expect a medication change, and then I’ll be out of here in no time.

@DWDavis I just mylot on my phone. I remember the old days when my phone had no internet, and those were very tedious times!

@AmbiePam I remember the old days when my phone was attached to a wire and a curly cord attached the handset to the base. It also had a rotary dial.

Waiting in doctor's offices can be boring. Do you have apps on your phone or tablet to help pass the time?

Boy, that sounds like a lotta work, you need a break from thinking up all of that. Thankfully I'm retired so lists aren't needed anymore. The kritters let me know when to get up and sometimes they're roughhousing at 3am so I end up watching TV long enough for it to lull me back to sleep.

Now that I've retired from teaching, the list is the agenda for a typical weekday in my new role as a full-time writer. The good news is that I can ignore most of it if I choose.

I’m at the car dealership, getting my oil changed and tires rotated. I’ve had a boring lunch at Subway, and after this I may boogie down to Fort Knox for a while. Or just go home because it’s so dang smoky out there.

@DWDavis — not unless they burn all of Canada and 3/4 of the US.

Are any of the wildfires close enough to be a threat to you?

@FourWalls I thought there were wildfires in Kentucky that you might be getting smoke from.

Those to-do lists never end. Tuesday was OK. Quiet and uneventful.

My problem is that for every one thing I check off, I think of two more things to add.

If I had my druthers, I'd rather sleep a little later and do a little less.

So far so good, so far just cat feeding, a bit of toilet cleaning, breakfast and mylotting. Can't complain! Oh I forgot, took a brief survey for 2 bucks which I have already been paid for, so all good.

My Tuesday started early as well. I actually fell asleep at 1am and woke up at 6. My morning was quite busy coz I bathe the three puppies and groomed them. And then I crocheted a baby romper which I'm not done yet.

@DWDavis True. Fortunately, my two lovely dogs who sleep with me don't wake up early. They could sleep until 8am. But I have three puppies ,oh just two now coz one was rehomed yesterday.

Even when we try to sleep late, our dogs get us up at what we refer to as Pee O'clock. When a pup has to go, it has to go.

My to-do list is constantly growing too! I should really start a list of all the things I have done just to prove that I am actually achieving something otherwise I feel like I'm getting nowhere!

I love making lists and checking off stuff as it gets done. I break tasks down into smaller chunks so I have lots of things to check off.

I've thought about doing some virtual tutoring. With all the travel we have planned and the question of adequate WiFi in some of the campgrounds, I decided to put the idea on the back burner for now.
