A Man Offered Me a Donut as a Morning Treat

I love to sit in my vehicle each morning and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee. At the same time, I savor the peace, quite and beauty of the lovely surroundings. I see something different, every single day. To my surprise, a gentleman walked up to my open car window and offered me a freshly baked donut from a box. There was a wide selection to choose from. This has never happened before, but when it did I was shocked. I nervously replied, "No thankyou, I'm a diabetic. But, it was very thoughtful of you, to ask!" The man immediately walked away, with a kind look on his face. This was simply a kind gesture that he had made. Seeing me sipping on a cup of coffee in my car, he just wanted to show some thoughtfulness. And who doesn't appreciate a bit of kindness, from a total stranger? That was a nice gesture, though. I wouldn't accept but because you can never trust strangers.

@DaddyEvil It’s a shame that we can’t trust strangers and have to be so cautious.

I didn't take a donut, but at least his feelings weren't hurt.

@kobesbuddy Yeah, and that’s important. My dad went around with some cases of a dozen donuts each (from Krispy Kreme) to give to all of his neighbors. All but one house said yes. I was worried the one household that said no, hurt his feelings. Of course, they didn’t, but like you, I’m always concerned about hurting someone’s feelings when they’re being kind. And you were definitely kind.

@AmbiePam If he was staggering or acting strange, I would have been alerted.

I wonder if he does that every day? I just read about a 93 year old man who goes around giving out full size Hershey Bars on a daily basis.

Jay got two full sized candy bars, at his pediatrist's office. Why? Only God knows why this was necessary.

That's good of the stranger Just be a little careful though. Not each case but in some cases, someone can be there to dupe you as well. Rest you could obviously make out.

I was frightened, but didn't want anyone to think I was. Strangers always pose as a threat, to me.

Because I'm diabetic, I used this for a good excuse. I'm afraid of strangers and also very cautious.

Kind people are everywhere in the world, if we are actually looking for these things. Instead of focusing solely on all the violence and bad situations
