Life has been turned upside down and I let it be. I gave up trying to control my life, I know that might sound strange but it works. See..... At my old job I told the female manager " you have to give up control to gain control." I had began to see her do that before I left, I often wonder if she gave up control and gave out what she was in control of instead of doing it all when she had employees that were excellent at what had to be done. I've taken my own advice with my life. I can't do everything I once did, it's impossible! There isn't enough time. I asked God for help but with blind eyes didn't see how I could. Now... The people were there I just had to say " will you help me do......" And it's getting done. The stress is leaving. A new season of my life has began. I've stepped into what I was made to be doing. Yesterday a girl, that always complains about being sick to get out of work said " I threw up" I told her " go home." She stood for a moment then said " shouldn't I tell someone?" I looked at her in disbelief and said " I am someone, your manager, go home." I reckon she wanted the store manager to pet her with sympathy of throwing up and tell her to go home, but that's my job, not theirs. I gave out several verbal warnings to stop taking checks over a certain amount without my okay. Another that didn't do what I asked him to redo. They might whine to my manager but I'm theirs and it's my job to make sure they do theirs. I'm teaching.... My crew how to defuse an angry customer. Last night I overheard an awesome compliment from a cashier training a new cashier " Angie is the chill'est manager here." I was made to do this job. How is life treating you?
