CNN CEO Chris Licht has been fired

Licht was at the helm of CNN for just one year. His vision was to push the cable news network back toward the center and to make Republican lawmakers feel more welcome. He pulled the plug on streaming CNN+ immediately after it launched. He fired some well-known journalists. He produced a new morning news show that was a disaster from the start. He fired Don Lemon in April. He had a Trump town hall that went completely off the rails with Trump lying his face off and the moderator unable to keep up with real-time fact-checking him. The town hall seriously pissed off the CNN staff but the final nail in the coffin was a 15,000 word article published on Friday. It was absolutely brutal. I'm no media expert but it was clear to me that Licht's time at CNN was coming to an end and this morning the head of Warner Brothers Discovery announced that Licht was out. Somewhere in NYC Don Lemon is laughing.
