My buddy and I got the JBL working yesterday.

My friend, who is a JBL expert, came over yesterday, and we spent a couple of hours talking and working on the JBL L-100 single I have here.
He is originally from the Philippines, so I was a good Filipino host and gave him some cranberry juice (too early for wine) and "adobo" chicken. It was actually Trader Joe's teriyaki chicken, slightly doctored by yours truly.
We took the woofer out of the speaker and analyzed the electronic connections inside. The midrange and tweeter are original, and worth about $200. They were disconnected from the circuit, as the speaker had been used as a subwoofer.
We were able to get the woofer working by reestablishing a connection that had worked loose.
We talked about "getting old," about about how being into sports makes us seem younger to others than we actually are. He was a top tennis player in his age bracket when he lived in New Jersey.
I will finish up the cosmetic restoration of this thing and list it on Craigslist at $600 or so. But I'd probably sell if for $400.
I'll attach a photo of my latest "swoops." I could have this thing done in a couple of hours if I set my mind to it.
How is your Sunday shaping up?

It sounds like you had a productive and enjoyable time with your JBL expert friend, working on the JBL L-100 single speaker. It's great that you were able to analyze and fix the woofer by reestablishing the loose connection. Collaborating with someone knowledgeable in the field can be a rewarding experience.

Good for you for getting the job done. My Sunday as usual went by so quickly I had no idea how it whizzed by with me writing online suddenly it was late afternoon and I started at 7:30 AM this morning.

That's good you were able to get the woofer working. I hope you're able to get a good price for it.

It works! Yay! Our Sunday was very quiet except for a couple of big KABOOMS of thunder which shook the house. Have a good week.
