I had mentioned I did a shop yesterday, well they had something in the lobby area there I had never seen before, not even in an aquarium. It was a tank full of jellyfish, with an ultraviolet light on them, giving the effect of making them purple. It was a huge tank built into the wall. I found them fairly fascinating. I was wondering what jellyfish eat...maybe shrimp brine or something? I have no idea. I wonder who even had that idea. It was fairly amazing. Do you like aquariums, and or fish displays?

Most of them serve informational purposes. Also, the more people know about life in the oceans, the more they would be inclined to protect it. Aquariums are so cool to look at. I think though maybe there should be a time limit on how long aquariums have to display the sea creatures, before they are returned to the ocean.

@rebelann I think it would depend on how long they were there. Sometimes they can just rejoin a pod or group..plus say like with the jellyfish..maybe they could release them all together. They would be in their own unit. However, being able to be fed...and taken care of , probably isn't a bad life. Safe from predators,,,besides how much does a jellyfish know what is going on?

@snowy22315 Aw man, that's disappointing. The one I went to was expensive, but at they end they let you pet a stingray (they tell you how to do it, safely), which I liked, but my friend enjoyed even more. It was hard to get her out of there.

Yes, I love aquariums. There is a free one in a mall near where my nephew lives, but when I was visiting,,of course it was under construciton or something. You could only see a few outside displays.

This one must be self cleaning, or the jellfish keep it clean. I am sure there is some way to access it, after all they have to feed them, but it wasn't readily apparent.

@snowy22315 I do not believe that the jellyfish keep the water clean, for what I know they produce a mucus. They surely have a way to keep the aquarium clean.

I didn't take any pictures of it. I got rid of my aquarium too. I like having fish..but it can be an expensive hobby.

@Nmmi670 It depends on the variety, but there are always maintenance costs with an aquarium.
