THE Store You'd Want a Gift Card To

There have been several discussions here lately about gift cards, and it made me think about if I could have a gift card anywhere, which store would you choose? If I remove the possibility of a grocery store gift card which is practical, I'd probably go for one from a clothing store, as I have not purchased clothes in what seems like forever. Quality clothes are so expensive, at least here. So, which would you choose? Anyone out there going to pick something kooky?

Hmmm, I haven't replaced clothes in a long time but I'd rather get gift cards to Chewy.com

I'll throw my hat into the ring for the kookiest one: DubiaRoaches.com It's... uh... pretty much what it sounds like. They're a specialty retailer that offers a pretty decent variety of live feeder insects, and with six lizards to feed I end up ordering from them pretty frequently. It's way less expensive than buying crickets from PetSmart, even with the discounted price they offer online and ~10% average cash back from TopCashback on each transaction. Better for the critters nutritionally, too. Other than that, I'd probably take a gift card for one of the places that sells bulk frozen feeders like rats and chicks. We're down to our last few frozen rats for Noodle, so I'm going to have a pretty costly order for more coming up this month. I'd pay a lower shipping fee if I ordered a bulk package from PetSmart, but Noodle hasn't been impressed by the quality of the rats in this last package we got from them. So expensive overnight shipping it is!

If I could give a best response, it would definitely be yours! I never knew there was a distinction in the quality of rats! Your answer put a big smile on my face. Thank you!

@AmbiePam Honestly I can't tell the difference between the good ones and the 'bad' ones, but Noodle definitely has her opinions on it! It could just be a ball python thing. I read a thread about picky eaters on a forum for ball python owners once and the post that stuck with me was the one from a guy whose ball python liked rats... but ONLY all-white female rats. A tiny little patch of black fur on that rat? Nope, rejected. Wouldn't even lift their head if he dared present them with a male rat. It also had to be exactly the right temperature when offered, if I'm remembering correctly. I think someone in the thread joked about renaming the python Goldilocks.

I do not know that it is kooky, I would say Hobby Lobby, Joann's or Michaels, or Restoration Hardware. Lowe's is right up there as well.

We shop in Walmart for almost everything. We still have money on my account with Amazon that we haven't used in three years. But if I had a Walmart gift card, it would get used for food. I hope you're having a good day.

@AmbiePam Yeah... I used to spend money on new books but since I get those free now, there's nothing I need from Amazon. I should clarify this... we have plenty of food in the house... but there's always junk food Pretty runs out of before time to go shopping again. *sigh* Thank you.

I just depends on what I currently need. Only right now I don't need anything much. Actually, I need to de-clutter if anything. But if I WANT anything that I don't necessarily need it would be books, CD's, DVD/Blueray, clothes or jewelry, I guess. So Amazon, Target, Macy's, etc. Or eating out.

I do get gift vouchers from Amazon.in but what they offer is of no use to me If I come across one then I would like to shop at nurserylive. They are supposed to be reliable seed suppliers.

My best friend is just like you, her name is Dominique. She cannot get enough seeds. When we went on vacation last year, she took me out way in the country, in the middle of nowhere, to visit a huge seed store. I thought we were lost because everything looked deserted. She bought so many seeds the owner said she set a record! She would have picked a place like you suggested too.

@Marilynda1225 I think they are. A little kid gave me some, assuming I was a mother. Even though my dad told me to just keep it I felt so awkward I walked around until I found a guy whose wife wasn’t there that day, and told him to pass it on to her. I felt like a fraud. I think my sister has been addicted since she was 14, and now at 44 she still makes a beeline when she sees one of their stores. They get something for the men on Father’s Day, but I don’t remember what it is.

A grocery store would be first on my list, followed by a gas station, but those are the predictable ones. If I had to pick something that wasn't a necessity, I'd probably say Bass Pro Shop or maybe just Amazon. Actually, who am I kidding? I would want a gift card to ShopDisney so that I could buy even more Disney stuff I don't need! lol

I live about a mile from a brick and mortar Talbots store, so I'd have to say a Talbots gift card would be a good one to get. It's hard for me to shop in the store though, because the front is all glass, and the store is right across the street from the lake, so it's too bright for me to see. I have to shop online, even though I can walk to that store anytime I want between 10-6, Monday through Saturday, and 11-6 on Sunday. That is, unless I book a appointment for one-on-one boutique shopping - which I definitely do.

@CarolDM, have you put your cats' names onto your Chewy account? After years of having the account I did so I'm guessing sometime last year. Chewy sent a card, which I assumed was for me since my birthday had just passed. It was for Henry, who turned or turns eight sometime this month.

@AmbiePam Does Barkbox have things for kitties or just dogs? We don't have any dogs. When we were first married we had some. People who didn't want to see their older dogs pass away were going to take them to the pound. Mike decided to bring them home to us instead. We had 4 of them for a couple of years before they passed.
