Feelings....does love hurt ...I don't think so

One of the important ingredients of love is ability to care.
Somebody once said people should fall in love. It makes them a nice person. That is because such a person becomes kinder to everybody. It is true.
So if the kind person has the ability to ignore the spouse, and the spouse of the girl he loves...to carry on a long drawn affair....does he remain kind?
I think not.
In his shoes, I would become a nervous wreck out of guilt. Hate me, hate the girl I love, just keep alternating between being nice with everybody and being nasty the next second.
The name of the love game is not getting the trophy. The name of the game is multiplying the joy. That ...is the difference.
So yes, I do have my reservations about the king chosen by the British subjects.

I love you. Why must I expect you to love me back? Marriage or relationship commitments are different. There are promises that shouldn't be broken. Then it hurts. Mostly because there is feeling of cheated as you said. But otherwise, why must we expect it in equal measure if not more?

@vandana7 promises are just words which as humans most of the time we just go against them but if we just live without having a measure it becomes better no need for promising

When we care about someone, that someone can hurt us without meaning to and without realizing they're doing it. (Charles was and is, in my opinion, a piece of crap.)

Love does hurt in a very good way as well when your heart is so full of love for someone that you can literally feel it throbbing in your heart. It hurts enough to make you tear up in a good way.
And I am not romanticizing it. Typing from experience.

Then I have never experienced it. I possibly love with a fear that I will lose this person, and so have insurance not to go overboard, or maybe feeling that I am not to the standard of the person, or whatever...but in general, maybe I love in the sense ....I want to make the person happy...that is the thing. I just want that person happy and safe. So...I definitely don't expect to be loved back.

I agree, choosing is not possible. LOL
But even when we feel we love someone.........possibility of it waning exists...at times temporarily because we have other issues on mind...at other times, they fail us ....in what is important to us...so being unsure that this is love....does happen.

I have very little respect for King Charles because of his affair with Camilla...and then he marries her and brings her into the royal family. Nope.
