Do you let your kids watch tv? My daughter loves watching Baby Einstein and I let her watch it about as much as she wants because our younger daughter is not old enough to play. How much tv do you let your kids watch?

I let my daughter watch almost as much TV as she really wants to watch. I make sure that it's educational shows though. I'm a single mom and work from home so I need all the help that I can get LOL

I feel you on that. I do transcribing from home and am looking into doing telephone work as well. Baby einstein definitley works wonders. I got the whole set 20 DVDs for 30 bucks!

yes I let them watch TV but I tell them to watch only the shows sensible and educational shows. They like watching the animal planet, the history channel and national geographic but being kids as they are they also watch shoes on cartoon network & nick jr. They probably spend about 2 hrs. a day on a weekday but on weekends they spend as much as 5 hrs watching.

I love watching the Dicovery Channel. I babysat during the summer and never thought anything bad about it, until they showed a woman having a baby. The do not bleep hardly anything out and I changed it as fast as I could. They came down the next day and said that their mom wanted them to tell me that they cannot watch that channel anymore.

I let my kids watch after dinner for an hour and a half after dinner during the week and on the weekend they can watch till 12:00pm then they have to go out to play or something then around 6:00pm they can watch till bed. I found if you let them watch as much as they want never do anything else.

That is true. But I can't let my daughter go outside and play because she is too little. She normally asks for the movie to be put on and then she goes out of the room to do something else for a while.

I normally sit with her while she watches her movie. I think she just likes to see if we will turn the movie on for her. She runs around saying Einstein, Einstein, and then when we turn it on, she leaves the room or finds something else to play with.

Yeah. I try to bribe my daughter into doing things like using her potty. But nothing works. Not even tv. I guess it won't hurt anything. It is not like she is watching something totally gory or anything.

I let my kids watch tv, i can't say how many hours as we don't keep track of it, but not the whole day. A few shows of her favorite, Dora the Explorer, then we turn it off again for her next TV "session" in the afternoon. If she doesn't look for it, we don't turn it on. We only turn on her DVDs when she seems bored with what she's currently doing/playing and have nothing to do. And when it's on, it doesn't take a long time before she gets bored with it again.
