I don't think there is such a thing as silence, because there is sounds all around whether it be nature sounds, sounds of the house or outside sounds. Silence is only a figment..something we strive for.

We all talk about silence but I doubt that there is or can be complete silence. Certainly there are times when people cannot hear a thing, but often animals can as their hearing is different to ours. Silence is humans is possible but complete silence I do not think is a fact.

Guess I'll be the one to go against popular opinion.
NO.
The air moves around us, moving the leaves in the trees.
There is a sound beyond the spectrum of our human ability to hear. Could it be an animal crying it's pain or lonliness?
I highly doubt there is such a thing as true silence, there are more things beyond our preceptions than there are within.

Supposedly silence can only exist in a vaccuum. There will always be background noise of some kind. Even deaf people supposedly register the sound of their own blood in their mind. I honestly don't know, it's nothing I've looked into other than casually.
I'm more interested in the vizualization of nothing.
