Do you think plastic surgery is selfish?

Do you think that people who get plastic surgery (for cosmetic reasons, not for repairing the body after trauma) to look better or to have better boobs are being selfish?
Shouldn't that money be used for something to help everyone, like a park or a school?
Plastic surgery is outrageously expensive and you're still going to get old and die!

I hate to argue with you, but plastic surgery costs 10's of thousands of dollars, a big screen maybe a couple thousand

it's not selfish. It's just like going to the parlor to have your hair cut or to get your nails done. Your doing this to enhance your features. Teh only difference is that it's more expensive than just a simple hair cut or nail polish. I also agree with what the first poster said that it's their money and whatever they want to do with it, then so be it.

Very simply put, NO WAY JOSE
Plastic Surgery IS NOT SELFISH at all
It depends on why you are doing it though. For instance in my case, where my self esteem is low, then I think plastic surgery is great for people with low self esteem so that they can feel better about themselves. But if you have a mentally like michael jackson, then yeah, plastic surgery is wrong for you.

i wouldnt say that it's selfish, but unnecessary. but then it's unfair for us to judge them as it's not our money after all, it's their own money.

well, that is true, but I was questioning the morality of it
