Nate is our oldest grandchild. He is seated next to his father, Chad(father of our four oldest grandchildren). My daughter is remarried, but still has friendship with this man.
Her brother's name is Chad, also. He is happily married, too.
Nathan is sitting in the co-pilot seat, receiving instructions from his Dad. After flying so many hours of time in the air, Nathan earned his pilots license, also.
We are very proud of this young man! His father is an amazing man. We love him, very much. Divorce is ugly, but it doesn't have to remain that way.

At this time, Nate is 29 years old. He wasn't doing OK, very low self-esteem. Now, Nate is doing beautiful! Good parents made this possible for him.

@AmbiePam Nates mother had low self-esteem. She went back to college and eventually earned a master's degree in medicine:) She works as a nurse-practitioner, under a doctor.

Nate's father is an airplane pilot. He loves to fly! Now, both his sons want to become a pilot, also.

That’s neat! I wouldn’t get in a plane on a bet anymore. It’s great that he took an interest in it and has studied hard to fulfill that dream!

Chad has been their good example, he became a pilot about 20 years ago. Both the boys wanted to do this same thing, in the future. Zachary is a bit pinched, financially. Some day, he will be flying an airplane, too!

Thanks, Linda:) Nate's father trained to be a helicopter mechanic, while in the Marines. Flying was his biggest dream!

You must be a proud grandma Congratulations! Nathan
I agree that divorce can be ugly. It's heartening to know that your daughter still is friends with her ex.

Yes, I'm very proud of Nathan! He has come a million miles, in the past twenty years:)
I remained friend with my ex-husband. And my daughter followed this pattern I left behind.

Getting his pilots license, this was a goal Nate always wanted to accomplish.
