U S Coast Guard rescue a dog that fell down a cliff 300 feet into the ocean

A rescuer from the United States Coast Guard (USCG) is being praised a hero after he was lowered by a helicopter in Cannon Beach Oregon on Wednesday. The female German Shepherd named Dory fell down a cliff around 7 pm in a remote area at Ecola State Park into the Pacific Ocean. Dory must have a Guardian Angel since the dog did not suffer any broken bones when the diver from the USCG in Astoria was aboard a helicopter that lowered him to the ocean where he was able to rescue Dory who was swimming to shore in rough seas after the owner of the dog had called the local fire department to make an attempt to rescue the dog. When the fire department officers realized that rescuing the dog was out of their hands, they called the USCG to rescue Dory and return the dog to its owner in the parking lot area safe and sound. The owner of Dory took his pet to the veterinarian where he received the good news that his pet had no broken bones in her body.
