Trapped in a ,"BROTHEL"

India
June 29, 2023 4:16am CST
Yasmin was sold to a brothel by her boyfriend, for a sum of 25, 000 Rs.. A year later, she became pregnant by one of her punters. Mother Yasmin decided to flee from the brothel with her 8-month-old baby. However, she was caught by the gang of the brothel, who snatched her baby and blackmailed her into continuing her job at the brothel. They threatened to sell the baby girl to another brothel if she refused. As a poor and lactating mother, Yasmin did not have a choice but to sell her body to feed her customers. After 25 years, Yasmin received an increment and was promoted to the position of manager of the brothel. Now, she is known as the Madame of the whorehouse. Her daughter, Catherine remains trapped and working in another brothel of the city. I can feel the pain of Yasmin, but unfortunately I cannot help her.

I feel sorry for her and sad that the authorities do nothing to help.

The fact that Yasmin was eventually appointed as the manager of the brothel after so many years is a bitter irony. It shows how oppressive systems can perpetuate and exploit vulnerable individuals.

@stapllotik - You are right, they do this to offend her, it's not a gift that they are doing to her.

@stapllotik I just came up with a post on it. Thanks to you. We need to address the elephant in the room, and see what best solution can be there. I have also advocated legalizing dowry a few times giving why it might be a better solution.

@vandana7 This is a sensitive topic, and I'd prefer not to respond vaguely. It has generated numerous thoughts in my mind, and I appreciate you bringing it up, Vanny. While I may engage in a debate about it, I'd rather not do so at the moment. Is there anyone else who would like to contribute?

Her story reflects a dark reality that exists for many individuals trapped in the cycle of exploitation and abuse.

@Shasha_ I am deeply upset by the fact that in today's world, where we pride ourselves on progress and equality, some poor souls are still trapped in forced labour.

@stapllotik Sometimes I get angry at rich people. They do nothing to help poor people. Instead they still want to take whatever the poor people have.
