There is public opinion taken in India on uniform civil code.

India is taking public opinion on uniform civil code. Although the country is secular, there are different marriage, divorce, matrimonial regulations for Hindus, Muslims, Christian, Parsis. If these regulations become uniform it can lead erasing of differences among different section of society.

thanks John in separate countries there can be different codes but in same country it should be the same.

I think it is high time to have it. It would be a big step towards secular nation in a true sense.

Wow, it's interesting to see India considering a uniform civil code. It could indeed bridge gaps and promote equality among different communities. Let's hope public opinion leads to a positive change!
