Opinions and Prayers needed for Mimi

So it’s been awhile since I’ve posted on here and while I could take a minute or several to update on everything that’s been going on, I want to focus on my 10 year old cat Mimi. About a year ago, Mimi started to get a bump near her bottom nipples and it was always to the one side. It was only noticeable when she was in heat so we figured it was just her ovary on that side since she’s not fixed. We’ll probably about 4 months ago, we noticed that the bump didn’t go away but it stayed small. Fast forward to two weeks ago and the bump is now the size of a golf ball. I put a call into our vet and explained everything. Mimi goes for what is probably a pre-surgery appt as I want to have the mass removed. However, today, we noticed that the mass has ruptured through the skin and has a hole in it and it’s oozing a little bit. Her vet appt is in 6 days but as soon as they open on Monday, I’m going to call them to let them know what’s going on. I doubt they are going to have me bring her in sooner so I’m just going to keep cleaning the area and watch it. My problem is that the internet is telling me that because it has ruptured/come through the skin then it has probably metastasized somewhere else in her body. So now the question becomes should I just put her to sleep? Or do I have her go through with the surgery/mass removal only to have her for a few more months? Right now she is eating drinking and acting like herself but my family knows all too well how quick that can change. We lost our 19 year old cat (who was also Mimi’s dad) to cancer. He was fine in the morning and by 2 in the afternoon began having seizures. I don’t want that for Mimi. But I also don’t want to take what time she may have away. And I also don’t want money to be a factor in this but it is. Surgery can be expensive and if it’s going to cause more harm than good, I’m not sure it will be worth it. So that’s my dilemma. My question to anyone reading this is what would you do? Or if anyone has been through this, what did you do and why? I know which way I’m leaning and for those that are going to say I should have contacted the vet sooner, I agree with you.

The vet needs to see her and give you advise on what to do.

You definitely want the vet to see her and get a better idea of what her prognosis is before anything is done, which I'm sure you plan on. If they don't think the chances of her quality of life will be good after the surgery, then I'd lean towards putting her down as soon as she starts going downhill. As long as she is still eating and drinking without acting differently, then I'd continue to love her while she felt good. But as soon as my dog or cat showed signs her illness was taking her down, I would let her pass away before she got worse. I do not want to remember my sweet pet suffering in her final days, and I certainly don't want to be responsible for letting her. I'm sure you'll know what do if it comes down to it. Hopefully, she'll have a good prognosis. I will pray, pray, pray!

Maybe get a couple opinions from different vets? I hope she feels better soon.
