Is it tick season? It is summer to rainy season now. My dog has not had ticks in over a year, I am still trying to find where to buy the medicine I got him last time. I get more or less 7 ticks per day from him, I really hope those don't bite humans since i see some crawling on the wall of the bed. What do you do when your dog has ticks?

Hope you get the needed medicine soon. My mom and sibling have dogs and usually if their pets gets ticks, the pets are brought to the vet.

That is the risk of letting the dog interacting with other dogs. I had a dog before, and I used to give him topical medicine every month.

He never does though, he's just inside our gate. But there are tons of dogs outside.

@lady1993 I'm not sure why your dog could get ticks. Maybe the ticks from other dogs were cruising around on the ground near your gate where your dog was hanging out.

I use Frontline flea and tick medicine on my dog, and I don't remember the last time she had a tick or flea. The last time a dog of mine had a tick was probably twenty years ago.I'm too afraid they'll get a flea or tick borne illness so I do like the vets recommend, and keep using it all year round. I get mine at Wal-Mart, but every vet office should have that kind of thing available for any pet parent to come buy.

I do not think we have that kind, I'll be sure to ask the vet once we get an appointment.

We have a cat and don't let him go out. Tics absolutely attach and suck from humans, if not removed correctly. Or, if they can get near you. Best advice I can give. Call the vet, and keep the dog on it year-round.

I hope he is much better now, it can be very annoying for the dog.

I use Nexgard Specta chewable for my fur babies to protect them from ticks and fleas and other intestinal parasites including heart worm. I used to use Bravecto but it doesn't include protection for heart worm.
