Things I'd do and wouldn't do.....

As some of you here knew, I'm getting a reborn doll and I'm going to be a reborn mommy very soon. For those who is reading about this for the first time, you might ask what the heck is an adult woman in her 40s would do with a doll. Sophie or Sophia Louise is what I'm naming her. And she will be my comfort baby and a model for my baby crochet items. I am a real mom to an adult young man and I don't have any plans to have any more babies. I'm pretty sure I would cuddle Sophie when I feel like cuddling a baby or when I'm watching a movie or just want to relax. I'd be chaining her clothes, maybe take her out once in awhile in the park, at the mall, or just around the neighborhood. She'd definitely have tons of photos and probably a YouTube channel. What I wouldn't do: I'm pretty sure I won't be feeding her real baby formula nor would I pretend to breast feed her. I just find it weird for other reborn mommies to be pretending to breast feed a vinyl doll. Not my thing. If I do role playing, and feed her, I'd be using a fake formula not a real one. Photo attached is another glimpse of my unfinished Sophie.

You do not need to justify yourself because you wanted a reborn doll. You will be happy having her and she is like your little baby girl now.

Thank you Anna. That is true. I need not justify myself. I really couldn't care less what others might think coz I will certainly do what I will. But I won't go to the eyxxteme of pretending that Sophie is a real baby by buying a baby milk formula.

@LadyDuck Some reborn mommies may just be too caught up with role playing that they buy real milk formula for their reborn dolls. I wouldn't do it because first of all, my reborn doesn't have a drink and pee system. I didn't want that. I didn't even want a breathing and heartbeat system when I was asked.

@toniganzon - People often have to "judge" the others, totally wrong in my opinion You are right not buying a baby milk formula, it makes no sense.

I cannot believe the craftsmanship that went into Sophie. She is a work of art, and I think if having her makes you happier, or does indeed comfort you, then enjoy her as long as you can.

I had a stuffed animal that I hugged for years and it always made me feel better. I'm sure a life like doll would be even better./

A reborn doll has given a lot of comfort to parents who have lost a child. It's sometimes referred to as a memorial doll. It's also called a simulation doll for education. Others just have them as a hobby coz they collect dolls and a reborn doll done by an artist and not from a doll manufacturer is a piece of art. I had always wished for a baby girl. And Sophie is making that wish come true.
