New kitchen appliances are not cheap

Mom decided to remodel our kitchen but the appliances are on us. The ones we have are all from the 90s I think. It was time for an upgrade, even though they still work.
Right now is the best time to buy them because of the Independence Day sale. Biggest sale during this time from what I’ve been told, so we took advantage of it.
But even with the discounts the total was still not cheap. An LG fridge, microwave, range, and dishwasher—with $50 per item to haul away old appliances, and 5-year warranty for three of them—came out to over $5600. And that doesn’t even include installation.
The guy at the store told us it is much cheaper to have our contractor do it than getting it from the store. I wonder how much he will charge as the store’s would’ve been probably over $800, if not over $1000.

New kitchen appliances are very expensive, but worth it given how often they are used and for how many years.
We gifted our son and daughter-in-law new stainless steel LG Cafe series appliances for their new home in May.
The induction range alone was over $5,100 in itself.
They only had to pay for haul away for the range, which was a mere $20.
They kept the white fridge and just hauled it to the basement to use as a spare fridge, the plumber who installed the dishwasher and ran the plumbing to the fridge took the dishwasher away for us as a favour because my hubs knew him and that is how we hired him.

@lovebuglena We suggested that they choose what they want, and our daughter-in-law researched the line and found it to be the best and hopes that it will last longer than some of the others.
My parents did not help us out, we did without and only bought what we could afford.
I was proud of them for getting the lowest price for the appliances, as they did not take the gift for granted.

@Juliaacv the Cafe ones are very stylish. Interesting that the LG range we got is bright blue inside. Wonder why they did that.

I may have seen the Cafe series stuff in the store. Not even sure how much it was. $5100 for a range is a lot! But it also depends on one’s budget and what one can afford to spend.

Had it not been for the sale it would’ve cost way more.

WOW with prices like that, I would dig a pit in the ground, make a fire, and cook over that. Impressive prices so I hope your new kitchen will work well and the appliance will work well for many years to come,

Our fridge alone was close to $1900 and that’s not counting tax and warranty.

Good thing we got 0% financing for 12 months for opening store credit card. Though the card was approved for credit limit amount lower than our total. The rest will have to be charged to regular card with interest.

Your parents are footing the bill, right? New appliances are indeed very expensive. And installation is expensive too. Hope you have a good Independence Day.

Ouch, I knew the cost of living was high in your neck of the woods, but talk about sticker shock.

They better last a long time. We also bought 5-yr warranty for all except microwave. Didn’t get any for it. We were gonna get three years but sales guy said better get five. Not that much more than 3-year one.

We had to fit out this home when we moved and it cost us a small fortune. Hopefully, we'll never need to do it again.

Hopefully. Our appliances are from the 90s. And they still work. But best to replace, especially since new kitchen.

Did not want to spend money on appliances, let alone that much, but can’t do a brand new kitchen and keep old appliances.
