Not only did myLot help me make $55 last week, it helped me give some free publicity to @TheHorse (because that’s his schtick) and to one of his favorite songwriters (since I pay people back when I steal their schtick)! Last week I decided to finally get rid of my OLD — as in, no longer supported by Apple — iPhone 7. I was thinking the best I could do was simply turn it in to be recycled. No! A “we buy any phone” store in the same mall as the Apple Store gave me $45 for it! How cool is that!? Now I’m all modern with just my iPhone 12 (which, I think, is three generations old). Not only that, but I went to the insurance office with digital evidence that I now have a monitored security system for my house. That enables me to have a discount on my homeowners insurance. As I paid that less than six months ago, they gave me a whopping “refund” of $9.64 or something like that. Wowza, I’ll try not to spend that all in one place. It was so muggy yesterday that I opted to not go to the family reunion. I’m sorry I didn’t get to go, but I’m glad I didn’t. Right about the time everything was to start (2 PM) the severe thunderstorm warnings started being issued. I haven’t heard of any major damage in the area. However, my uncle did lose one of his barns earlier this year from one of the wind storms we had go through (the reunion was at his farm). Today, in contrast, it was quite nice! After lunch I walked around the mall near Chuy’s. That’s where I took the photo. You don’t expect to see a blue heron sitting in a drainage ditch running behind a mall, do you?! That’s the result of the rain we had yesterday: usually, in the summer, that creek is bone dry. So here’s the payback to Pony: “Defying Gravity” by Jesse Winchester.
