How my No Spend months work

July is my first No Spend month this year.
For a No Spend month for myself I don't spend any money on anything that isn't in my budget. There are a few rules that I use for myself.
If my vehicle breaks I will empty other envelopes to be able to pay for the repair since I have 2 kids I have to get to/from to work and then will put all spending on a halt for the next little while until I get those envelopes back where they were.
I don't have a clothing budget. If I see a top that I really want it has to wait until I have a month where I'm not doing a no spend.
On my no spend months I use my Quilter Spending envelope to buy Amazon gift cards that pays for my Amazon purchases.
But I don't spend any money on fast food, fun activities, etc.
I feel that No Spend months are important every once in a while. I feel that they help keep me on track or get me back on track if I've had a slip up with my budgeting.
The main thing for a No Spend is to make sure that you're still paying your bills. I've seen some people think that a No Spend month means no money leaves your account or envelopes depending on how you budget.
