Our neighbor's house was on fire but only 3 people helped / myLot

I wish I was joking but unfortunately it's true. I just heard it from my mom. There was a fire that burned down a small house a couple of blocks from us, it was midnight I think that's why we did not notice the commotion. There were many people watching, those who live closest to them but only 3 people actually helped.

They were using water form the drainage/canal because the flow of water from their sink was too slow. And when that ran out, they just threw mud. But when help from the officials came, all the people who crowded around the house were first to get snacks.

The nerve. Anyway, the family is currently living in the tent setup near our house and had cash aid from the officials. No one got hurt luckily.

God help them if someone ever leaves them to fend for themselves in the future. That will come back to bite them.

Are there no firetrucks nearby to help them? I think it is very important that there are nearby fire departments in your place.

The nearest one is 15 minutes away and the road to our place is too narrow for trucks to pass by.

Thank God, the family is safe. Too mean of those people who didn't help but served themselves with snacks.

Oh my, that is awful! It's such a shame that only three people came to help them but I can understand why some may not have done. Looking at it from the perspective of someone who was watching a house burn, I would imagine fear would kick in as well. I am so glad no one was hurt!
